Chrome
Google officially announced today that they will be releasing an open source web browser called Chrome. Is the market big enough for a fourth major web browser? I assume so but the name Google should at least give this new web browser some much needed market leverage. But in an Internet Explorer dominated market with Mozilla Firefox attempting records just to get noticed and Opera flailing about in third the browser wars are just heating up. And that’s not mentioning the myriad of other good web browsers kicking about! Safari (webkit) anyone?

I know there are people who will disagree with me when I say the Nintendo DS game Soul Bubbles is one of the coolest titles to come out this year. Yes, I know it’s not quite as cool as Final Fantasy IV but then again what game is? The problem is that the Nintendo DS has had a steady stream of shovelware since the day it hit the shelves way back in 2004. Since then we’ve been spoon fed the lamest games known to man. I was really hoping there would be more innovation in games when the DS came out but it’s all falling apart month by month. Not in terms of sales but hope in general. Occasionally there’s a game worth the time of day to play but 90% of the time you’re just wasting your money on rushed games that money hungry developers have shat out. But what does this have to do with Soul Bubbles? I was just happy to find a game that I liked more than a bed of nails. I do think others will be pleasantly surprised at how nice this game really is. But it’s all too easy and short. Next time maybe…
